Samurai Rape Of Woman In Bondage

Brutal bondage rape woodblock print from Japan, printed approximately 180 years ago. A hairy and scruffy-looking samurai (perhaps unemployed, or ronin?) has captured a woman, dragged her into the woods at night, gagged her with a cloth gag, tied her ankles wide to the ends of a staff, and is forcibly penetrating her. Artist is Kunisada, and the work is from his series: 'Shunka shuto shiki no nagame' (Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter: Prospects for the Four Seasons). Thought to be "one of the most horrifying and infamous rape scenes in shunga."
